Editor's Note: The Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee invited representatives of Party members from the forestry and grassland sectors to share their stories of passing on revolutionary traditions and pursuing green development last week.

Since the first day I was assigned to work at Yuanshan Forest Farm, I've borne in mind my mission-to make our country greener. Forest coverage at our farm has surged from 2 percent in 1957 to the current 94 percent. The green miracle is now bringing a prosperous life to local people.

Sun Jianbo, director of the Yuanshan Forest Farm's development commission in Zibo, Shandong province

China has made great achievements in the protection of endangered wildlife. Those protection efforts have also resulted in a stronger awareness of wildlife protection among the general public. Now, we've built a giant panda sperm bank and collected gene samples from more than 130 giant pandas, which will contribute to the species' research and protection in the future.

Hou Rong, deputy director of the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in Sichuan province

People in Saihanba always hold a strong belief-a fallen tree can be replanted and people who have fallen can stand up again. In the past decades, Saihanba witnessed a green miracle of turning bare land into forest. We will advocate a hardworking spirit and contribute our efforts to build a beautiful China.

An Changming, Party secretary of Saihanba Machinery Forest Farm in Hebei province

Environmental protection and restoration should be conducted from generation to generation. New technologies, such as big data, have added vitality to our work. We warmly welcome young people to contribute their ideas and use what they've learned to green our country and protect the environment.

Liu Lei, director of the Hainan Rainforest National Park's Yinggeling branch management office in Hainan province
