BEIJING -- China is expected to see 11 million train trips Monday, the last day of the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday, the national railway operator said.

A total of 999 trains were added to handle the holiday travel rush, said the China State Railway Group Co Ltd.

On Sunday, passenger trips on Chinese railways topped 8.65 million, the data showed.

China will likely see around 100 million trips during the festival, which started Saturday, a report by online travel booking platform Ctrip said.
