Beijing to build another 'Sanlitun' commercial area

Aiming at building the city into an international consumption center, Beijing will build several commercial area landmarks including another "Sanlitun" by 2025, according to the municipal government on Monday.

The commercial landmarks will be located in the CBD area, Shougang Park, Wukesong area and Lize region, involving Beijing's western, southern and eastern areas.

Sanlitun, one of Beijing's busiest and most fashionable areas where a big number of foreigners live in the city, has a long tradition of well-developed international communities with restaurants with the flavors of different nations.

Jinzhan area, in the eastern part of Chaoyang district, will be the location of the second "Sanlitun" in Beijing, according to the city's plan for 2021-25.

Jinzhan neighbors the Beijing Capital International Airport, Tongzhou district where the city's municipal administration is located and the fourth embassy area, which has made it a good choice for the international block.
