College student well logging contest wraps up in Beijing
A national contest on borehole logging skills for college students, which attracted 148 teachers and students from 17 universities to compete with each other, wrapped up at China University of Petroleum in Beijing on May 28.
Well logging experts from China National Petroleum Corporation, Chinese oil giant Sinopec Group and China National Offshore Oil Corporation were invited to grade the performance of the presentations of 37 teams, questioning the contestants to see how they can determine the suitability of a borehole for its intended use.
Li Ning, an academician with the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said that he hopes participants could grasp the chance for self-improvement, identify their weak points during the intense competition, and endeavor to grow into well-rounded talent who can shoulder responsibility in the well logging field.
