Two killed in office explosion in Heilongjiang

Two people were confirmed dead in an accidental explosion at an office building in Dongning, a county-level city in Heilongjiang province on Wednesday morning, according to the local government.

Another five people have been rescued from the two-story building and sent to the hospital, local authorities said.

The building, part of which collapsed due to the explosion which occurred around 7:50 am, is the office building of a local enterprise.

Rescue teams, comprised of people from public security, medical and firefighting departments, immediately arrived at the site after the accident and made efforts to help trapped individuals.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
