China's courier sector expands in April

BEIJING - China's courier sector witnessed an expansion in April, showed monthly index.

The China express delivery development index stood at 275.4 last month, up 24.4 percent year-on-year, the State Post Bureau said.

The sub-index for development scale stood at 339.3, up 35 percent year-on-year, while the sub-index for service quality stood at 350.8, up 31.5 percent year-on-year.

The sub-index for development capacity rose 4.1 percent year-on-year and that for development trend remained almost flat.

The express delivery volume is expected to grow 24 percent in May, forecast the bureau.

Compiled on the basis of data from major logistics firms' operating delivery services, the development index reflects the overall business activities and trends in the country's courier sector.
