The hotel is situated on the south bank of the Qiantang River in the heart of Binjiang central business district. YOGA CLASS
To celebrate International Nurse Day, which fell on May 12, the Shangri-La Hotel in Wuhan, Hubei province, launched a yoga class specially for medical workers one day ahead of the festival. Fifteen medics from the city's Hankou Hospital joined the event. As the Chinese city hardest-hit by the pandemic in 2020, Wuhan was a priority in a nationwide medical aid last year. The hotel said it offered nearly 25,000 free takeouts to medical workers serving at four hospitals from late January to mid-March.
CULINARY DELIGHTS
Pelham's, a signature Michelinplate restaurant at the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai, which reopened on April 12, is adding culinary delights to the hotel. The restaurant was named after Pelham Laird Warren, the British consul general in Shanghai in 1910 when he officiated at the inauguration of the Shanghai Club, or today's Waldorf Astoria Club. Pelham's has created a modern European a la carte menu as well as the signature "Shanghai Club"-a nine-course taster menu.
Xiyuan Hotel in Beijing kicked off this year's Beer Season on May 7, bringing a monthslong beer gala to the capital city. The outdoor event will last through the end of August. It will then move indoors, according to the hotel. Since the hotel's 1958 Beer House began brewing German-style beer in the 1990s, the hotel has attracted throngs of loyal followers for its high-quality crafted beer.
