Germany wins men's team pursuit in UCI Track Cycling of HK station

HONG KONG -- 2021 UCI Track Cycling of Hong Kong kicked off on Thursday as Germany claimed the gold medal of the men's team pursuit at the Hong Kong Velodrome.
The men's team pursuit was contested by three teams, led by Domenic Weinstein, a two-time World Championships men's individual pursuit silver medalist, Germany recorded a time of three minutes 55.115 seconds to top all teams and qualified first in the morning session.
Despite making some changes to their starting lineup in the night session, Germany still managed to clock a time of 3:52.429, finishing ahead of Denmark and took home the gold medal. Japan featured at the final places 3-4 race with no opponents, they finished with a time of 4:04.303 and got the bronze medal.
In men's team sprint, UCI Pro team Dream Seeker Racing Team edged out Spain for the gold, Ukraine outpaced Malaysia in the final places 3-4 race to win the bronze medal.
Also on Thursday, Team Hong Kong, China finished the women's team sprint with 50.029 seconds. As there was no other team participating in the event, there were no rankings nor medals awarded.
