President hails ties with Argentina
President Xi Jinping said China welcomes more quality farm produce and high value-added products from Argentina to enter the Chinese market. He made the remark in a phone conversation with Argentina's President Alberto Fernandez on Tuesday night.
The Latin American country is also welcomed to participate in the third China International Import Expo, which will be held in Shanghai in November, Xi said.
Xi stressed that China will open up further to the outside world and promote the establishment of a new development model with the domestic market as the mainstay and domestic and international markets reinforcing each other.
This will offer a broad market and a wide range of development opportunities for all countries, including Argentina, he said.
Noting that mankind has entered a new era featuring interconnectivity, Xi called on all countries to uphold the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind and take the path of cooperation and common development.
China will continue to provide assistance within its ability to Argentina and deepen vaccine cooperation between the two nations, he added.
Fernandez said that China's development is an important opportunity for his country and deepening Argentina-China relations is high on the agenda of Argentina's foreign policy.
On Tuesday night, Xi also had a phone conversation with Nguyen Phu Trong, general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and Vietnamese president.
