Small fungi bring big fortune for Jinmi villagers

Throughout 2020, the village of Jinmi in Zhashui county, Northwest China's Shaanxi province, sold about 60,000 kg of fungi, generating 4 million yuan ($615,620) in revenue through both offline and online marketing. [Photo/english.cctv.com]

The village of Jinmi in Zhashui county, Shaanxi province started developing its edible fungi industry in 2018. The fungi became known nationwide after President Xi Jinping inspected the village and praised the products in April 2020.

Throughout 2020, the village had sold around 60,000 kg of fungi, generating 4 million yuan of revenue through both offline and online marketing.
