Local authorities in Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, are still investigating an incident at a local cinema, in which patrons were found to be unwell while viewing a movie.
A total of 63 audience members were sent to nearby hospitals after many of them vomited or felt dizzy while watching a movie at a cinema in Weishan town of Dongyang in Jinhua at around 6 pm on Wednesday. Initial investigation and blood tests revealed excessive carbon monoxide levels inside the hall might be the cause of the incident.
So far none of the 63 movie-watchers showed life-threatening symptoms, and the cinema has temporarily halted its business pending further investigation.
