BEIJING -- No serious road accidents with a death toll exceeding five persons were reported across China during the first six days of the week-long Spring Festival holiday, the Ministry of Public Security said on Tuesday.
Public security authorities also received no reports of significant traffic congestion over the holiday, the ministry added.
Tuesday is the sixth day of the holiday, and it began to see a travel peak as Chinese people are wrapping up homecoming visits and returning to their jobs.
Many people in China chose to stay put during this Spring Festival holiday amid efforts to contain COVID-19.
