Preparations on track for 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games: FM
BEIJING -- China welcomes delegations from across the world to attend the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games and will definitely make the games worthwhile, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Sunday.
Wang made the remarks at a meeting with ambassadors to China and other senior diplomats.
Around 30 ambassadors to China and senior diplomats visited the Zhangjiakou competition zone of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games in Hebei province on Sunday.
Noting that China has entered the one-year countdown to the opening of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games, Wang said the Chinese government attaches great importance to the preparations, which are going well.
China stands ready to work with all parties to hold a simple, safe and excellent Winter Olympic Games and do this in a green, sharing, open and clean manner, he said.
Diplomats said they look forward to China holding a successful Winter Olympic Games, and believe the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games will become a milestone of humanity's victory over the pandemic.
