In Hebei, 6 children discharged after recovery
Six children who were infected with the coronavirus in Shijiazhuang, Hebei province, were discharged from Hebei Chest Hospital on Wednesday. They are the first children to recover since the latest round of the pandemic began this year.
The children, ranging in age from 7 to 14, will stay at centralized quarantine centers for observation before they can go home, Hebei Daily reported.
During their treatment at the hospital, they were in good hands. Nurses and doctors played games with them and told them stories to ease their anxiety.
Xingtai, another Hebei city hit by the virus, also saw the release of recovered patients. As of Thursday, more than 20 had been discharged from hospitals in the province, and 40 asymptomatic carriers had been released from medical observation.
Hebei now has 830 local confirmed COVID-19 patients in treatment and 150 asymptomatic carriers still under medical observation, the provincial Health Commission reported on Thursday morning.
