A botanist and professor from Anqing Normal University of East China's Anhui province, Zhao Kai takes every opportunity to do field surveys to observe and photograph birds. He has taken pictures of 328 of the nearly 400 estimated bird species residing in the province, and also traveled some 6,000 kilometers on the road to do field surveys for environmental protection.
