President sends Bosnian leader get well note
President Xi Jinping extended his wish for a speedy recovery from COVID-19 to Milorad Dodik, rotating chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on Monday.
In his message, Xi extended sympathy to Dodik over testing positive for the novel coronavirus.
Xi also expressed his wish that the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina defeat the virus as early as possible.
On Dec 22, Dodik was diagnosed with pneumonia of both lungs and tested positive for COVID-19, according to the University Clinical Center of Republika Srpska.
Dodik's condition was stable and doctors were monitoring him closely, according to the center.
Dodik had felt fatigued starting on Dec 19, and he was hospitalized on Dec 21, according to the Facebook page of his political party, the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats.
According to the World Health Organization, Bosnia and Herzegovina had recorded 109,330 COVID-19 cases and 3,923 deaths as of Sunday.
