Chinese mainland reports 8 new imported COVID-19 cases

BEIJING -- The Chinese mainland reported eight new imported COVID-19 cases Sunday, bringing the total number of imported cases to 3,701, the National Health Commission said Monday.

Of the new imported cases, three were reported in Sichuan, two in Guangdong, and one each in Shanxi, Jiangsu and Shaanxi, the commission said in its daily report.

Among all the imported cases, 3,348 had been discharged from hospitals after recovery while 353 remained hospitalized, the commission said.

No deaths had been reported from the imported cases.

Chinese mainland reports no new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases

The Chinese mainland on Sunday reported no new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases, the National Health Commission said Monday.

A total of eight imported COVID-19 cases were reported across the mainland Sunday, the commission said in its daily report.

Sunday also saw one new suspected case recorded in Shanghai, who had arrived from outside the mainland.

No new deaths related to the disease were reported.

19 COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals on Chinese mainland

The National Health Commission said Monday that 19 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery on the Chinese mainland Sunday.

There were 374 patients still being treated, including four in severe condition, the commission said in its daily report.

Altogether 81,338 patients had been discharged from hospitals after recovery by Sunday, the commission said.

As of Sunday, a total of 86,346 confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported on the mainland, among whom 4,634 died of the disease.
