More Tibetan ancient books included in national rare books' catalogue


Fourteen rare ancient books of the Tibet autonomous region have been included in the sixth tranche of Chinese national rare classics' list, according to a statement recently issued by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
According to the region's library, up to date, 305 rare ancient classics of Tibet have been included in the catalogue of the Chinese national rare classics, and the library has more than 18,000 volumes of Tibetan ancient books.
According to Tselo, an official of the region's center for Tibetan ancient books restoration, the content of the newly included Tibetan ancient books include Tibetan medicinal science, sutras, and these books were selected from the regional library and the libraries of the region's cities of Lhokha, Nyingchi, and Chamdo.
