Symposium held about book on Xi's poverty alleviation efforts

BEIJING - A symposium was held in Beijing to discuss a recently-published book of a collection of stories about the poverty alleviation efforts of Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
The symposium was hosted by the book's publisher, the Commercial Press.
The book contains 67 selected stories about Xi's efforts stretching over about half a century in poverty alleviation, including his work to assist the country's poverty-stricken areas and people in difficulties.
Representatives of China's poverty-reduction officials, scholars, and people from the country's impoverished areas gave speeches at the symposium.
