Xi led group that drafted long-term proposals

Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, has acted as the leader of a group that drafted the proposals for the formulation of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) for National Economic and Social Development and the Long-Range Objectives Through the Year 2035, a senior official said on Friday.
Han Wenxiu, deputy director of the Office of Central Commission for Financial and Economic Affairs, said at a news conference of the CPC Central Committee the proposals were drafted under Xi's leadership.
Xi presided over two meetings of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, three meetings of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and two meetings of the group for the drafting of the proposal over the past seven months to study the general framework, train of thought, guiding principles and important content of the proposals, he said.
Xi made a number of inspection trips to different areas and heeded advice from different sectors of society, he said, adding Xi also made a number of revisions to the documents and devoted energy to ensure the drafting of the proposals in a high-quality manner.
