Rising Anhui: Chuzhou to better integrate into YRD
Being located in the intersection of Anhui and Jiangsu provinces, Chuzhou in East China's Anhui province has the unique advantage of integrating into the integrated development of Yangtze River Delta, or YRD, region.
Transportation is Chuzhou's first step to integrate into the YRD region. As the city's major project, Chuzhou-Nanjing intercity railway has attracted attention from all walks of life since ground-breaking.
At present, the construction team from China Railway 12th Bureau Group Co Ltd has excavated a 21-meter-deep foundation at the second phase of the project, and the installation of shield tunneling machine is expected to start in October, according to Yao Liguo, official of the project.
"The Chuzhou-Nanjing intercity railway is designed to run at a speed of 120 kilometer per hour. It will only take 40 minutes to travel from Chuzhou to Jiangbei New Area in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu province," said Yao. "Trial run is expected to begin in 2023."
