Universal Studios Beijing marks milestone
The main structure of the new Universal Studios Beijing park, which will open next year, has been capped, the municipal government said.
A new landmark for tourism in Beijing, the project has attracted a great deal of attention.
According to Universal, the resort, which is located in Tongzhou district, will include seven themed lands: Kung Fu Panda Land of Awesomeness; Transformers: Metrobase; Minion Land; Wizarding World of Harry Potter; Jurassic World; Isla Nublar; Hollywood; and WaterWorld.
"We are very much looking forward to the forthcoming China International Fair for Trade in Services, and are confident in the recovery and development of China's economy, especially the cultural and tourism industry," said Xu Liping, the resort's vice-president of government affairs.
He said the tourism complex, including Universal Studios Beijing, hotels and other public facilities, will participate in the summit session, forums and exhibitions at the fair.
