Chinese shares close higher

BEIJING - Chinese stocks closed higher Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index going up 0.5 percent to 3,380.68 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.18 percent higher at 13,478 points.

The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, gained 1.72 percent to close at 2,632.45 points Friday.
