30 kg of heroin seized, 3 suspects detained

Three suspects were captured with 30 kilograms of heroin recently in Yunnan province, local police said on Sunday. After receiving a tip that drug dealers were planning to traffic drugs from Kunming, capital of Yunnan, to the city of Zhaotong, police in Zhaotong dispatched a task force to investigate the case. At around 7 am on Aug 2, police nabbed three suspects in Qiaojia county and seized 30 kg of heroin in a suitcase. The three suspects have been detained.

Rare mountain cats spotted in Qilian park

Infrared cameras have captured rare footage of Chinese mountain cats in Qilian Mountain National Park, the park administration said. The cameras recorded five Chinese mountain cats－a female and four cubs－on scrubland at an altitude of around 3,000 meters. Also known as the Chinese desert cat, the animal is under second-class national protection.
