Company plays big role in fighting COVID-19

Wuhan Zoncare Biomedical Electronic Co has sold nearly 7,800 sets of ultrasonic diagnostic instruments, electrocardiogram monitors and other medical equipment abroad in the first six months this year, playing a global role in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The equipment sold abroad as of the end of June went to Spain, Mexico, Hungary, Albania, Brazil, Italy, the United States. More went to Indonesia, Armenia, Morocco, Nigeria and several other countries, according to a statement released by the company on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the company, one of the major medical equipment manufacturers in Hubei province, sold and donated another 12,000 sets of medical equipment to domestic hospitals, medical institutions and related companies, including Leishenshan and Huoshenshan, the designated hospitals for COVID-19 patients in Wuhan, Hubei province, in the first half of the year.

The company sales grew 300 percent year-on-year from January to June. Its sales volume reached 210 million yuan ($30 million) after it produced more than 20,000 sets of medical equipment in the first six months of the year. It played a big role in helping prevent and control the spread of COVID-19 on the Chinese mainland and helping secure renewed production and social order in the post-pandemic period, the statement said.
