LONDON - Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero suffered damage to his left knee and will travel to Barcelona for further examination, revealed the Premier League club on Tuesday.
The 32-year-old Argentine sustained the injury during City's 5-0 victory over Burnley on Monday and was substituted before half-time.
Aguero said on his twitter: "The scans I did this morning have confirmed that I have damaged my left knee. It's a pity but I'm in good spirits and so focused to come back as soon as possible."
"The striker will now travel to Barcelona to see Dr Ramon Cugat for further examination," City said.
City have won both of their games since the restart of the Premier League on June 17. They will visit Chelsea on Thursday.
