Two black-and-white snub-nosed monkeys were captured playing at the Yunnan snub-nosed monkey national park in the Baima Snow Mountain Nature Reserve in Weixi county, Diqing Tibetan autonomous prefecture, Southwest China's Yunnan province. The national park, covering an area of 334 square kilometers, has seen the species' population growing in the recent years due to environmental protection.
This species, unique to China, is as precious as the giant panda, with a total population of about 3,000 inhabiting the mountains of Yunnan and Tibet at 3,000 meters above sea level. In recent years, the population has been steadily growing.
