Beijing closes wholesale market over new local coronavirus cases

Starting from 3 am Saturday, Beijing temporarily closed the Xinfadi wholesale market for agricultural products in Fengtai district, in response to new local COVID-19 cases emerging in the capital city over the past two days.
The market's more than 10,000 workers will undergo the nucleic acid tests, according to a statement released by the district's market regulation bureau and its health commission early Saturday morning.
Moreover, the wholesale market will carry out sterilization throughout its whole area and special sections have been set up for sales of vegetables and fruits in other locations, to ensure the market supply, the statement said.
When the market will reopen will be announcedlater, according to the statement.
