Tsinghua team invents quick testing device
A research team at Tsinghua University has developed a self-serve coronavirus testing device that can show results within 30 minutes, according to a report in Beijing News on Wednesday.
The device promises greater convenience and faster response time.
Current tests typically give results in 24 hours, and people have to go to certain medical facilities to get them done.
The team members are from the School of Pharmaceutical Science and the School of Medicine at Tsinghua University. The project was supported by the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission.
According to the university, the team will produce a small number of the testing devices to verify the feasibility of mass production and cooperate with hospitals to test their clinical effectiveness.
