Senior lawmakers hear reports on legal deliberations

BEIJING -- The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) held a chairpersons' meeting Tuesday morning to hear reports on the deliberations of a draft law revision and multiple draft resolutions.

Li Zhanshu, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, presided over the meeting.

Li Fei, chairman of the NPC Constitution and Law Committee, reported on the deliberations of a draft revision to the law on the prevention and control of environmental pollution by solid waste, as well as a draft decision to authorize the State Council to temporarily adjust relevant laws and regulations in the Hainan pilot free trade zone.

Shen Chunyao, director of the Legislative Affairs Commission of the NPC Standing Committee, made a report on the deliberations of a draft decision on the convening date of the third annual session of the 13th NPC.

The meeting also heard the report of the deliberations of a treaty on the transfer of convicted criminals between China and Pakistan.

The meeting decided to submit the above drafts to the ongoing NPC Standing Committee for review.
