China Eastern flies more overseas students home from the UK
A chartered China Eastern Airlines plane brought 184 Chinese students studying in the UK back to China on Friday.
Flight MU7072, which departed from London, landed at Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 10:08 am.
This was the third time that China Eastern has made such a flight to bring Chinese students back to China. The airliner said that it has been using its best aircraft, the Boeing B777-300ER, for these flights.
On April 3, China Eastern flew about 180 overseas students from London's Heathrow Airport to Ji'nan of Shandong province. On April 12, flight MU590 took 180 students from San Francisco, California to Shanghai.
Many Chinese students have been stranded overseas as the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in widespread flight cancellations.
The CAAC will continue to work with other departments to help Chinese overseas students who need to return to China urgently, said Jin Junhao, an official with the administration, at a news conference on April 13.
