Chongqing universities to help Hubei grads find jobs
Chongqing University and Southwest University in Chongqing will reach out to graduates in Hubei province to help them find jobs — a major challenge for those in the province most affected by the coronavirus epidemic.
The graduates of two universities in Hubei will be the primary beneficiaries this year.
According to the Ministry of Education, the total number of college students likely to graduate in 2020 will hit a historic high of 8.74 million.
The ministry recently launched a program under which 48 universities or colleges across the country will pair up with a Hubei university or college from April to September to assist with job hunting.
Chongqing University, the top university in the municipality, which neighbors Hubei, will work with China Three Gorges University in Yichang. Another leading school in the city, Southwest University, will assist Jianghan University in Wuhan.
The 48 pairs will share job information and educational resources, expand job seeking channels, strengthen career consultancy service, provide internships and exchange experience in students' job seeking.
