8 killed in small plane crash on take-off in Manila

MANILA - A small plane bound for Japan crashed on take-off Sunday night at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila, killing all eight people on board, sources at the airport said.
According to the sources, the civilian plane, RPC 5880 operated by Lion Air Inc., burst into flames around 8 p.m. local time at the airport runway.
Investigators from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) are at the scene to investigate the crash.
The CAAP has yet to issue an official statement.
