BUENOS AIRES -- Eduardo Salvio netted a brace as Boca Juniors secured a 3-0 home win over Independiente Medellin in their Copa Libertadores group match here on Tuesday.

The former Atletico Madrid and Benfica winger scored either side of halftime before Emanuel Reynoso added another goal in the 72nd minute against the Colombian side.

The result came just three days after Boca clinched the Argentinian first division title by beating Gimnasia La Plata 1-0 in the final match of the season.

Boca moved to second in the Copa Libertadores group H standings, two points behind Paraguay's Libertad, who beat Caracas FC 3-2 in Asuncion to make it two wins from as many matches.

In other fixtures on Tuesday, Luiz Adriano bagged a hat-trick to fire Palmeiras to a 3-1 home win over Guarani, Santos won 1-0 at home to Delfin, Bolivar overcame Tigre 2-0 in Bolivia and America de Cali won 2-1 at Universidad Catolica.
