Quarantined foreigners receive letter of encouragement, gifts

A group of foreigners being quarantined in Shanghai received a letter and gifts delivered by the Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Shanghai New Social Stratum Association on March 8.
The letter reads: Quarantine against virus is no isolation of warm hearts. We are right here with you. Because we know, warm hearts WARM hearts.
The gifts for the foreigners, who are being quarantined in hotels in Pudong New Area and Changning district, included local-flavor snacks, books, flowers and coffee. They were carefully selected from local markets and would be transferred by the quarantine volunteers.
Accepting the gifts on behalf of the foreigners were the consuls general of various countries including South Korea, Italy and Iran. The foreigners were also sent well-wishes over the phone.
According to Shanghai's latest measures to prevent the spread of the virus, all inbound travelers from countries and regions severely affected by the novel coronavirus will be subjected to epidemiological investigation.
