Shanghai, the country's leading commercial center and a major industrial hub, has mobilized all of its resources in the battle against the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic. Its medical workers have either been sent to the front line in Hubei province, or placed on call 24 hours a day. In Shanghai, diagnostic reports on suspected cases are being provided within 24 hours, pharmaceutical companies are rapidly pumping out medical supplies, and local government workers are helping manage the strict quarantine of residential communities. China Daily photographer Gao Erqiang reports from Shanghai.
