China played their final round group stage matches at the same venue, ranking second in the group behind hosts Australia.
China will begin the playoff campaign by traveling to South Korea for the first-leg on March 6, 2020 at the Yongin Citizens Sports Park, AFC said.
The winners of the two-legged play-off will seal their place in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, alongside hosts Japan and the winners of the other play-off match, which sees Australia take on Vietnam.
