Confirmed virus cases in Shanghai grow by 14

There were 14 new confirmed cases of novel coronavirus infection in Shanghai in the latter half of Tuesday, bringing the daily confirmed cases in the city to 25 and the total to 233, according to official figures.
Three of the latest confirmed cases are people from Hubei province's Wuhan city while the rest are residents of Shanghai, the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission said on Wednesday.
The confirmed patients in Shanghai are aged between seven months old to 88 years old. Eighty-four of those confirmed to have the virus are from outside Shanghai while 149 are city residents.
A total of 126 infected individuals had lived or traveled to Central China's Hubei province recently, 11 had lived or traveled to other regions outside of Shanghai in the country, and 95 had close contact with confirmed patients. One person did not travel to Hubei or had close contact with people from Wuhan.
The commission said that 205 of the patients are in stable health condition, while eight are in critical and another seven in severe condition. Altogether 12 patients have been cured of the disease and discharged from hospital. There has been just one fatality in the city so far.
By midnight Tuesday, a total of 585 suspected cases had been excluded in Shanghai and 194 such cases were still under medical quarantine and observation.
