A total of 216 shuttle buses with 12,000 seats have been deployed for trips on the mega Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge to meet rising demand during the Spring Festival travel rush till Feb 18.

Travelers buying festive goods in Guangdong province, Hong Kong and Macao are driving the demand, according to the provincial transport department.

Twenty-four-hour customer service by staff is available, and online real-time traveler flow information is provided as well.

Monitoring of the buses and drivers in service has also been enhanced for safety.

Shuttle buses passing through the bridge have carried 18 million passengers by the end of last year since the bridge opened to traffic in October 2018.
