Xi's article on China's system, governance published

BEIJING -- An article by President Xi Jinping on upholding and improving the system of socialism with Chinese characteristics and advancing the modernization of China's system and capacity for governance was published Wednesday in this year's first issue of the Qiushi Journal.

In the article, Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, stressed that the decision adopted at the fourth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee held in October fully answered the major political question of what China should uphold, consolidate, improve and develop in terms of the state system and the country's system for governance.

Noting the importance of showing firm confidence in the system of socialism with Chinese characteristics, the article wrote that institutional advantages are the greatest advantages of a country and the competition of different systems is the most fundamental between countries.

To fully apply and implement the spirit of the CPC plenary session, the article underlined the importance of unswervingly upholding and consolidating the system of socialism with Chinese characteristics, improving and developing the system of socialism with Chinese characteristics and China's system for governance while moving with the times, as well as strictly observing the system and putting it in place.
