Rime scenery creates fairyland world in Arxan's Bailang peak

Bailang peak, which has a stunning vantage point from which to take in the winter landscape coated by the filigree of frost known as rime, lies about 35 kilometers from downtown Arxan city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region. Because of its extreme range of temperature differences separating day and night -- as well as its luxuriant forest -- Bailang Peak is the land of rime in winter. Beginning early December, the rime period may last until March of next year -- and is renowned for having the longest-lasting rime period in the world.
