10 typical cases on state compensation, judicial assistance released

BEIJING - China's Supreme People's Court (SPC) on Thursday unveiled five typical cases concerning state compensation and another five cases on judicial assistance.
The state compensation cases focus on applications concerning the illegal seizure of assets of business entities, as well as infringements on entrepreneurs' rights and interests.
The types of state organs bearing such compensatory obligations include police departments, the procuratorate and the court.
The cases demonstrated the courts' determination in giving equal treatment to various kinds of market entities, said Su Ge, a senior judge with the compensation committee office under the SPC.
The judicial assistance cases, the second batch on the subject, involve those applications made by victims of crimes or traffic accidents.
The typical cases published by the SPC are not a binding source of law for lower-level courts but serve as references.
