China's Zhu wins women's skeleton at North American Cup
LOS ANGELES -- Chinese Zhu Yangqi won the women's skeleton races at North American Cup in Park City, Utah on Tuesday.
Zhu finished first in both runs for a combined time of one minute and 42.53 seconds, beating Katie Tannenbaum of Virgin Islands and Kim Eun-ji from South Korea by 1.80 and 2.02 seconds respectively.
In the men's skeleton, Nathan Crumpton of American Samoa won both runs for a winning total of 1:39.49, followed by a Chinese trio led by Yin Zheng who was 0.28 seconds behind. Zhu Haifeng and Zhang Jing were in third and fourth places by 0.33 seconds and one minute and 34 seconds respectively.
Canadian pairing Taylor Austin/Mark Mlakar secured victory in the 2-man bobsleigh, totaling 1:38.91, while American duo Kristi Koplin/Jasmine Jones were the winners in the 2-woman bobsleigh, clocking 1:41.54.
