Beijing enterprises accounted for more than 20 percent of China's export cultural trade market this year, local authorities said on Saturday.

In 2018, the capital's cultural trade sector reached 17.08 billion yuan ($2.43 billion), up 9.9 percent on a year-on-year basis. The output value of original research and development animation game companies in Beijing also reached 18.25 billion yuan, up 57 percent over the previous year.

"Key efforts should be put into the development of cultural trade business in Beijing to open more channels in cultural communication and widen cultural trade platforms," said Du Feijin, head of the publicity department of the Beijing Committee of the Communist Party of China, in a meeting about Chinese culture going global on Saturday.

The meeting aimed to analyze the current situation of Beijing's cultural trade, expand the international influence of the capital in cultural communication and draft an overall plan for development next. More than 120 officials from the city's government agencies, as well as art organizations, were present.

"We will build up a joint mechanism to promote more collaboration between the central government and the capital, as well the municipal government and districts to integrate more resources," Du said.

A group of talents that would have an influence in international society also will be trained to become leading professionals in related fields, Du added.
