Educators call for modifying students' study methods to enhance qualities
BEIJING -- Chinese educators have called for modifying students' methods of study to enhance their core qualities at a national seminar on in-class teaching.
More than 1,000 educators from across the country attended the seminar, discussing issues such as how education can meet the requirements of the reform of examination and evaluation, and how to support students' extracurricular practice.
Efforts to deepen educational reform should focus on the learners to further combine learning with thinking, while normalizing heuristic teaching and investigative study, according to Yang Yinfu, secretary general of the Chinese Society of Education.
He also suggested that teaching should be more customized in accordance with students' aptitudes, and that information technology and education should be further deeply integrated.
Held by the CSE and other organizations on Nov 22 and 23, the seminar was the second of its kind.
