China releases holiday plan for 2020
BEIJING -- The Chinese government on Thursday unveiled holiday arrangements for 2020.
There will be 27 days off for major holidays, including the New Year's Day, Spring Festival, Tomb-Sweeping Day, International Labor Day, the Dragon Boat Festival, the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival, according to a plan approved by the State Council.
New Year's Day of 2020 will be a one-day holiday on Wednesday, according to the plan released on the official website of China's central government, gov.cn.
This year's Spring Festival, China's most important festival for family reunions, will run from Jan 24 to Jan 30.
Combined holidays for the National Day and the Mid-Autumn Festival will run from Oct 1 to 8, according to the statement.
Tomb-Sweeping Day holiday is from April 4 to 6. The Labor Day holiday is from May 1 to 5. The Dragon Boat Festival holiday is from June 25 to June 27.
