Xi stresses key role of industrial internet

President Xi Jinping on Friday underlined the importance of enabling continuous improvements in the innovation capacities of the industrial internet.

Xi made the remark in a congratulatory letter to the 2019 Industrial Internet Global Summit, which opened Friday in Shenyang, Liao-ning province.

Xi said that the new round of revolution in science, technology and industry is developing at an accelerating pace, and industrial internet technologies are continuously seeing new breakthroughs.

They have injected fresh momentum into the economic growth of all countries and offered new opportunities for integrated development of global industries, he said.

China attaches great importance to the innovative development of the industrial internet, and it stands ready to work with the international community to enhance the innovation capability of the industrial internet and push forward integration between industrialization and informatization on a broader, deeper and higher level, Xi added.

Themed "Empowering high quality and creating new momentum", the three-day summit has attracted over 100 leading experts and business leaders as well as over 100 enterprises, colleges and research institutions in the area of industrial internet.

Wang Zhijun, vice-minister of industry and information technology, said at the opening ceremony that the industrial internet is a key foundation and pillar for the fourth round of industrial revolution.

The development of China's industrial internet has seen positive progress, with a continuously refined policy system and accelerated efforts in integrated development and application, he said.
