Salim Ahmed Salim, former Tanzanian prime minister, born 1942
Salim, a Tanzanian diplomat who has worked in the international diplomatic arena since the early 1960s, is not only an old and good friend to the Chinese people, but also an iconic figure in the China-Tanzania and China-Africa friendship. He has made historically important contributions to the restoration of lawful seat of the People’s Republic of China in the United Nations as well.

Kulikova has had a close relationship with China in her work and life. She worked for the friendship association since it was established in 1957, and she first visited China in 1958. In the following decades, she has devoted herself to folk exchanges between the two countries, contributing to the bilateral friendship and cooperation.
