Xi greets Queen's envoy in Cook Islands
President Xi Jinping has sent a message to Tom Marsters, congratulating him on his reappointment as Queen's Representative in the Cook Islands.
In the message sent on Aug 27, Xi said that China and the Cook Islands have respected and supported each other since their establishment of diplomatic relations 22 years ago, and cooperation has been carried out in various fields.
In November, the two sides agreed to upgrade bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership of mutual respect and common development, Xi noted.
Xi said he attaches great importance to the development of bilateral relations, and he is ready to work with the representative of Queen Elizabeth II in the Cook Islands to bring the comprehensive strategic partnership to a higher ground.
