Wang Jicai, born April 1960, died July 2018
Wang is former head of the militia post on Kaishan Island in East China's Jiangsu province. He started work on Kaishan Island in 1986 with his wife and they dedicated their youth to this strategic outpost in the Yellow Sea. He has been honored both as a National Outstanding CPC Member and National Role Model of the Times.
Aireti Mamuti, policeman, born October 1969, died September 2016
Mamuti is former deputy director of the public security bureau of Pishan county, Hotan prefecture, in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uyghur autonomous region. He died in September 2016 when searching for class-A wanted fugitives. He was seriously wounded by a suicide bomber and later died in hospital. For 27 years while working as a policeman, he fought on the frontline to safeguard social stability and security. With his counterterrorism combat experience, he led police to successfully solve a series of cases.
